Friday, September 29

Building Tours

• Hosted by Town Hall 1873
• Where: Box Office Lobby
• When: Friday September 29th at 6:30 pm

Take a guided tour through the Town Hall to learn its fascinating history and its many uses in the community since its construction in 1873 – from civic hall and jail, lingerie factory and roller rink, to performing arts centre!

Backstage Costume & Props Display

• Curated by Theatre 3×60
• Where: Green Room
• When: Friday September 29th from 6pm-9pm

Slip backstage to the Green Room for a glimpse into life behind the curtain. Theatre 3×60 has put together a display of costume and props pieces going back over 10 years, featured in productions by Theatre 3×60, Cadenza Productions and Port Perry Town Hall Players.

Theatre Book Club

• Hosted by Borelians Community Theatre
• Where: The Patron’s Lounge
• When: Friday September 29th from 7pm-9pm

Bring one or two of your favourite plays or theatre-related books and discuss their merits with the group. Ask questions about how plays get chosen to be produced or just sit back and enjoy the conversation. The Borelians will talk about their play-selection process and read scenes from some of the scripts they are considering for future seasons. Tea, coffee, and light snacks will be provided for what will prove to be an entertaining and insightful experience.

The Actors Prepare

Sneak up to the main stage and meet the stars of Peter Shaffer’s very British comedy, “Lettice and Lovage” (playing at Town Hall 1873 October 12-21, 2017). Watch as they fine-tune their characters, experiment with their delivery, and prepare for the big opening night! The performers will talk about their craft, discuss their process, and answer your questions as the rehearsal takes everyone in new directions.Saturday, September 30

• When: Saturday September 30th from 1pm-3pm

Join Theatre 3×60 for a session of popular warm-ups and theatre games for young and old. Designed to prepare actors physically and mentally for their work onstage in rehearsal and performance, these exercises are challenging but fun for everyone! Participation encouraged but not required. Suitable for ages 10 and up.
